6 reasons you need to be at Beauty Expo

If you’re anything like us (very excitable beauty fans), you’ll be starting to gear up for Sydney’s biggest event of the year: Beauty Expo. Held over 20 and 21 August – yes, that’s this weekend! – it promises to be two amazing days. So, what can you expect and why should you attend? Here are six very good reasons.

Beauty Expo promises to be two amazing days filled with all things beauty.

#1. All about skincare

Making its debut, the Skincare Sanctuary is the place to be at Expo, with leading global and home-grown brands showcasing the latest in skincare innovations. Head to the Sanctuary to preview the latest products and treatments from Babor, Dermalogica, DMK, Sothys, Payot and Pevonia. It’s skincare, but not as you know it.

#2. You’ll have fun

Hanging out with like-minded beauty lovers, being the first to see new products, trying out treatments and buying a lot more than you thought you would (it’s inevitable) – what’s not to love? Think of the two days at Expo as your time to reconnect with your love of all things industry related, network, and keep ahead of the pack.

#3. Nailympia

The actual sports Olympics might be on, but forgive us if we’re more interested in Expo’s Nailympia Australia event! The partnership with Nailympia London, now in its third year at Beauty Expo, gives local nail technicians the opportunity to show off their skills in front of a panel of experts. You can catch all the action with live competitions held at the Nail HUB on the expo floor over the two days.

#4. Dermal therapy conference

For any salon owners looking to take their business to the next level, Beauty Expo’s one-day Dermal Therapy Conference is for you. Led by Suzie Hoitink, founder of Clear Complexions Clinics, the educational event will address a question many in the industry are asking: Is transitioning from a traditional beauty salon to a dermal/medi clinic the right choice?

There is lots of education on offer at Beauty Expo.

#5. So. Much. Education.

An exciting new edition, The HUB will satisfy all your education needs with four separate demonstration stages dedicated to makeup, nails, grooming and anti-ageing. There’s a packed line up of free sessions and paid events covering the industry’s biggest trends. We’ll be looking out for the men’s eyebrow grooming workshop, run by brow guru Jazz Pampling, and the live demos on the makeup stage.

#6. It’s worth it

With a two-day ticket price of just $35 – exclusive to members of the professional beauty industry – you’re sure to get bang for your buck. “Along with the presence of amazing brands, our expanded free education program sessions and on-floor makeup competition have really increased the value of the ticket cost,” says event director Julia Erben.

“There’s so much more to see at Beauty Expo 2016 and, of course, if visitors want to take that further they can attend paid education sessions with an incredible line-up of multi-talented presenters.”

Beauty Expo 2016 will run this weekend, 20-21 August, at the Sydney Exhibition Centre, Glebe Island. Get there via a free ferry ride from Darling Harbour or bus from Central Station.

So there you have it: there’s really no reason not to attend. Get your tickets here!
