Australian Fitness Expo incorporates Spa and Wellness space for second year

The 2009 Australian Fitness Expo will incorporate a Spa and Wellness space for the second year in a row.

According to event organisers, Diversified Exhibitions Australia, the Spa and Wellness space attracts exhibitors with a huge range of products including skincare, anti-ageing, aromatherapy, weight loss products, feng shui and hydrotherapy, among others.

Ashley Robertson, Exhibition Manager, Diversified Exhibitions Australia, said: “In an ever-changing environment, fitness facilities around the country have been looking to provide greater services to their clients to retain memberships. This has resulted in facilities incorporating small spa areas to provide members with an opportunity to not only work out through weight training, group fitness exercise or aerobics sessions, but also to understand holistic health through aesthetic care and rejuvenation.

“As a result of this we launched the Spa & Wellness Feature Zone to the Australian Fitness Expo in 2008 showcasing not only skin or spa care, accessory and product suppliers, but also companies displaying marketing, software and other business-related solutions. With the Australian Fitness Expo attracting gym, health club and recreational facility owners as well as hotel and apartment complex buyers to name a few, we are providing the spa industry with an opportunity of opening up new business in areas they aren’t currently in,” he said.

This year’s expo will also include the Endota Spa Pamper Zone, where visitors can sample Endota organic and Dermalogica skincare. A Dermalogica MicroZone space will offer visitors a 20-minute skin analysis and there will be treatment beds inside the Endota studio spa conducting half hour treatments.

The expo’s Natural Therapy Pages Experience will again exhibit, for the 3rd year running. The stand comprises eight treatment booths, with a natural health practitioner sampling a different therapy in each booth. Practitioners offer 20- to 30-minute taster sessions to promote and create awareness of their therapy.

In its second year within the event, the Yoga 09 Expo & Conference features world class Australian and international presenters; over 30 exhibitors, back-to-back yoga presentations and free demonstration classes.

Sponsors of this year’s fitness expo include the Australasian Spa Association and Endota Spa.

“Comprising over 300 exhibitors and 17,000 visitors, the Australian Fitness Expo is the ideal place for professionals to seek out the latest in not only fitness and health solutions but also spa and wellness products and services for their own facilities,” Mr Robertson said.

The Australian Fitness Expo takes place at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour, from  April 17 to 19.
