Desquacrem, biological deep cleanser

SOTHYS active cleansers includes cleansing milks, treatment lotions, exfoliants and deep biological cleansers. SOTHYS philosophy of a thorough THREE STEP process of 1: Cleansing, 2: Exfoliation, and 3: Deep Pore Enzyme cleansing is critical to achieving excellent results in salon and at home.

Deep Pore (enzymatic) cleansers, used after exfoliating peelers which perform a soft peeling action on the corneum, emulsify biological waste which can build up in the skin and create skin suffocation, dehydration and reduce the effectiveness of treatment serums and treatment creams. Sothys biological deep cleansers are designed to intensely cleanse the skin’s tissues and emulsify environmental impurities and physiological wastes (waxy esters & fat accumulations) that may not be eliminated through normal daily cleansing.

  • Desquacrem was first released in 1950 as Desquaderm formulated by Dr Hotz, the original creator of SOTHYS, it then evolved into Desquacrem in 1966 when SOTHYS was purchased by the Mas family.
  • Regular use can reduce comedone build up and therefore the need for extractions.

DEEP CLEANSING … Deep cleansing is performed to remove impurities that the skin produces naturally: sweat, excess sebum … (Endogenous factors) and is essential to prepare the skin for treatment.

Desquacrem is designed to digest fatty excretions and disencrust the follicular orifice, enzymatically emulsifying waxy esters (oily impurities), comedones (blackheads) and milia (hard waxy deposits) accumulating deeper in the tissues. A non-alkaline, pH balanced formulation that deeply cleanses the skin without the skin feeling stripped or tight.

The use of Gommage Exfoliant prior to the application of Desquacrem gives a double action peeling and deep biological cleansing in perfect synergy, increasing the efficiency of both products on all skin types.

Skin types: All skin types (except very sensitive/reactive skin), Normal-combination skin, oily skin, oil-congested (clogged) acne skin, hyper-pigmentation and sun-damaged skin.

Twice weekly usage is recommended for normal skin. Oily congested skin can use Desquacrem up to three times weekly.

Benefits: Deep enzymatic action on fatty deposits leaving the skin brightened and lightened, assisting absorption of treatment serums and creams, can be used conveniently in the shower, and is easily taken when travelling.

Desquacrem is a deep cleanser with soft cleansing agents that have a high affinity with the skin. So, this explains why several rinses are necessary to completely eliminate the product and the impurities captured.
