TAC Student Competes in Worldwide Bodypainting Festival

The Australasian College student Tashi Honnery has jetted off to Austria to compete in the Worldwide Bodypainting Festival between June 29 and July 6.

Tashi Honnery

Tashi enrolled at the Australasian College last September not knowing her life was about to change. At that time she was facing a number of personal challenges, emotional struggles and health complications. Having overcome these challenges, Tashi graduated from the college with her first completion of a formal education qualification.

Excelling in her studies, Tashi found her true calling at the college and began getting involved with the industry through work experience. This led her to assisting the AIM music awards which in turn gained her regular work with Australian rock artist Aimee Francis.

Earlier in June Tashi was invited to compete in the Worldwide Bodypainting Festival – an internationally-renowned industry festival attracting thousands from the arts world. Based in Austria, artists from 40 countries come to compete in front of more than 30,000 visitors.

Tashi will join fellow body artists from across the globe and compete in the Amateur Award – Open Category Bodypainting. Tashi is thrilled to meet other talented artists at an event of such high standards and scale. She is extremely enthusiastic to meet fellow body artists and make the most of the invaluable experience and mingle with people who are interested in the same thing. Tashi is most excited to see what context other artists use their techniques.
