Although approximately one million Australians suffer from an eating disorder each year, it is an extremely misunderstood mental illness with a high fatality rate.

Through Maydays for Eating Disorders, the Butterfly Foundation is aiming to raise awareness about just how serious eating disorders are, and the need for improved treatment and prevention services.

To support this excellent cause Faby Nails is asking everyone to Nail It during May, as a symbol against negative body image.

You can get involved by nailing a personal goal you’ve always wanted to achieve—like running a marathon, doing volunteer work or finally getting that pixie cut—or by painting your nails in support. We think we can do that!

In an extremely generous move, Faby will donate 100 per cent of profits from retail and online sales of nail lacquers sold during May 2016.

All funds raised during Maydays will go towards better prevention and treatment services, as well as greater community education about the devastating impact eating disorders have on sufferers, their families and the wider community.

Fundraising kits, posters and promotional items are also available from the Butterfly Foundation if you’re keen to get your whole salon involved.
