Shortcuts simplifies Spa Safety

Shortcuts is putting safety first, pioneering a new feature designed to minimise treatment reactions and improve client and spa safety.

The new feature titled Contraindications uses questionnaires and patch testing to identify client allergies and hypersensitivities, prior to a service.

If a client does not pass the required tests, spas are then within their rights to refuse the service and suggest alternative products or treatments.

Shortcuts Software CEO Rebecca Randle said the feature was developed to help businesses better protect their clients and avoid cases of extreme reactions.

“Overseas, recently, there have been extreme cases where reactions to everyday products or dyes have resulted in serious illness or even brain damage,” Ms Randle said.

“Contraindications is a natural progression for Shortcuts to ensure we continue to deliver timely and vital products which protect our clients, and theirs.

“The safety and wellbeing of a spa’s clients should be paramount and the reality is no business should be without this important feature.”

The Contraindications feature allows businesses to choose either the questionnaire or spot test option based on what best suits them. Both tests can be performed simply and quickly by a receptionist.

The feature comes as some international hair care brands announce mandatory skin allergy testing for clients experimenting with new hair colours.
