Lycogel Returns to the Australian Market Under New Distributor

Post-procedure colour cosmeceutical brand, Lycogel has announced its official return to the Australian professional market after a brief hiatus.

The brand, which is used and stocked by beauty and aesthetic professionals for its efficiency of use on treated skin, will now fall under the distributorship of Monesthetica.

Lycogel products are designed to serve as a skincare-cosmetics hybrid, delivering oxygen, hydration, and nutrition to the skin. Active ingredients contained within the range serve to support healing skin and reduce wearer downtime. The most notable inclusions are the brand’s Designer Gel Base and LYCO Complex. The reformulated pair work in tandem to nurture the skin via the inclusion of SPF30 and vegan, plant-based ingredients respectively.

Two SKUs are currently available: Breathable Camouflage (a buildable, matte finish foundation product), and Breathable Tint (a lightweight, glow-enhancing skin tint). Bottles have also been updated with a new look in an attempt to minimise Lycogel’s carbon footprint.

According to Phil De Dubois, Monestetica’s Managing Director, “Lycogel sourced a new packaging supplier, which presented the opportunity to update and upgrade their packaging.” As a result, cardboard use has been limited and cleaner plastic utilised. “The airless pump bottles are now opaque (previously transparent) to protect against air and light.” By upgrading the Breathable Tint to the airless pump, Phil says product can be attained more precisely and hygienically. “A pump delivery mechanism was necessary due to the reformulation, as now a little goes an even longer way.”

Professional Beauty last reported on Lycogel’s distribution in Australia to be via Advanced Cosmeceuticals (now ACSG) in 2021. While news on the brand has remained limited since, Phil says during this time Lycogel continued to receive requests from clinics and customers globally to reinstate the range.

“They had tried other brands and products, and nothing performed as well as Lycogel. The overwhelming and enduring demand for Lycogel reinforced the need for Lycogel to consolidate their entire production process to Europe, in order to re-enter the market and safeguard against supply disruptions,” Phil says.

“Now more than ever, clients are engaging in more skin treatments, and more frequently. However, the demands of modern life don’t allow for downtime, and no-one wants to look like they’ve had ‘work done’. In 2025, we are also seeing an increased focus on skin health as the line between skincare and makeup continues to blur. Clients are becoming increasingly conscious of what they put on their face day to day and demand clean, high-quality ingredients that will make a difference to their skin – not just cover it up.”

According to Phil, salons and clinics opting to partner with Lycogel and Monesthetica can expect “quality, versatility and clinic-exclusivity”. “Lycogel was the first breathable coverage, originally created for the medical aesthetics field to meet the unique needs of the post-procedure patient. Their formulations have been crafted to the highest standards, to provide reliable and superior coverage for even the most sensitive skin. The brand has the perfect look for every moment, lifestyle. Lycogel offers a choice of finish and level of coverage, and products can be combined and layered to create a truly personalised look, making Lycogel suitable for everyone.”

“Monesthetica was born from a desire to empower true skin transformation in the hands of aesthetic professionals. Lycogel has partnered with Monesthetica to reinforce Lycogel’s position as a clinic-exclusive, professional-led brand.”
