Airyday’s Latest Launch Is Not an SPF. Here’s What Beauty Pros Ought to Know About the Peptide Powerhouse Daily Moisturiser

Popular Australian SPF brand, Airyday recently announced the launch of its Peptide Powerhouse Daily Moisturiser – the fourth SKU in a building portfolio of skincare-centric topicals by the brand.

Airyday – which is best known for interrupting the SPF market – is a popular retail offering within beauty salons and clinics nationwide. The launch marks an increasing footprint for the brand in the professional skincare arena, feeding off the back of a growing demand for Australian made and owned brands both at home and overseas.

“Our core mission has always been about skin health and overall wellbeing,” Airyday founder Frances van der Velden tells Professional Beauty. “SPF is still at the heart of everything we do – we’re passionate about creating sunscreens that people love to wear daily, with skincare benefits built in. But great skin health isn’t just about protection; it’s also about repair and balance.”

While the brand is familiar with operations outside of the SPF realm (cue the brand’s highly sought after LED masks and night care products), Frances says “Peptide Powerhouse was about introducing a product that at its core cared for your skin in a truly foundational way – a universal moisturiser that complements your SPF, serums, or actives.”

In 2023, Airyday celebrated reaching 400 clinic stockists Australia-wide. Read our interview with Frances van der Velden here.

She describes the launch of Peptide Powerhouse as an “evolution” of the brand; “a natural extension of our mission”. Frances adds, “It’s about creating a full circle of care: protection + restoration = your strongest, healthiest skin.”

Airday commenced work on the moisturiser in 2023, landing on a formula powered by a potent Triple Peptide Complex, Allantoin and Bisabolol. Inspired by her own battle with skin issues ranging from from perioral dermatitis and hives to sensitivity and rosacea flares, Frances sought to develop a product that would help to calm the skin and repair the barrier, whilst incorporating many of the much-loved anti-ageing benefits of competitor products.

“The minimalist approach helped soothe my skin, but left me feeling like my glow had disappeared. I wanted a product that could offer both: barrier support for when my skin was fragile, and visible results when things were calm. Peptide Powerhouse became that dream product – a gentle, ultra-effective moisturiser that delivers on hydration, bounce, and strength for all skin types and concerns.”

Peptide Powerhouse is the first ‘everyday’ product in the Airday skincare range (aside, of course, from the brand’s slew of SPF solutions). “We wanted to create something that you could confidently reach for each morning, no matter your skin mood – sensitive, compromised, or just in need of extra love,” Frances says. “It’s even suitable after clinical treatments like microneedling and mesotherapy, making it a true all-rounder in the skincare world.”

Frances shares her predictions on the needs of skincare buyer habits for 2025, believing that consumers today are after “multifunctional, reliable, and affordable staples”. “Life is full – most of us don’t have time for 10-step routines every day. Instead, we need hard-working products that flex with our skin’s changing needs – whether it’s stressed, calm, fatigued, flaring, or simply ageing!”

Rather than speak to changing skincare trends, Frances sees that adopting a simplified routine is simply a reflection of “real people”. “People want products that work smarter, not harder, feel good on the skin, and slot seamlessly into everyday life. Peptide Powerhouse is that kind of product – it meets your skin wherever it’s at, and gives you the confidence to keep moving through your day, no matter what your skin’s been through.”

While she remains tight-lipped on future product news, she says to expect both new skincare and SPF formulas to hit the market soon. “If you look closely at our current lineup, you might spot some gaps…”
