Professional Beauty magazine to become bi-monthly

The January-February 2012 issue of Professional Beauty will herald a new era for Australia’s leading B2B beauty industry title with the creation of a sixth magazine issue, making the publication a true bi-monthly.

This is concurrent with the decision to cease publication of Australian Advanced Aesthetics, in its current stand-alone format, and combine the relevant content into Professional Beauty with the creation of a new, separate anti-ageing section.

The continued growth of advanced aesthetic treatments within the beauty industry – including injectibles, cosmetic surgery, laser and anti-ageing medicine – reflects the narrowing gap between medical aesthetics and traditional beauty therapy as the latter continues to incorporate the advanced appearance medicine market into practice. Professional Beauty’s well-established and highly successful formula is perfectly suited to expand with the addition of this next tier of products and treatments, positioning the publication at the forefront of industry growth.

This expansion will include the development of the “green living” editorial component, covering the now well-established national and global trend towards organic/natural/sustainable products and practices that encompasses beauty and wellness with an internal and external focus.

By combining the existing circulation of over 9000 with a select, additional circulation established through Advanced Aesthetics, Professional Beauty will increase its reach/national coverage by including new readers from the advanced aesthetics industry.

Professional Beauty will also be having a makeover, so readers can look forward to a fresh, new look magazine in 2012.

In addition, the annual buyers guide will continue to be published, in a more condensed format for ease of use, and, as part of the new publishing structure, will be printed at the beginning of each year, starting in January 2013. This will allow for the most accurate information to carry through for a 12 months. The guide will also be available online.

The team that is looking forward to serving your aesthetic industry needs will be headed by managing editor, Sarah Bowing and supported by deputy editor Jennie Lewis-Teal, beauty and features journalist, Jieni Xu, news and online journalist, Nina Richards and advertising manager, Harry Free.
