Stone Therapy Massage implemented into Diploma of Beauty

TAFE'S and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) across Australia are set to implement new units within the Diploma of Beauty and will start offering the elective of Stone Therapy Massage.

Stone Eagle Handcrafted Massage Stones of Port Douglas, Queensland are providing RTOs, and other professional training entities insight into stone sets and kits to fulfill the diploma guideline requirements. Stone Eagle are the only Australian manufacturers and craftsmen of handcrafted massage stones, and specialise in crafting from Australian and imported granites and marbles.

“This is a great move for the industry. By bringing national training standards to stone therapy massage we will see the emphasis put back to where it belongs; to provide the client with the best professional treatment using heated and chilled stones, while ensuring the comfort and safety of the practitioners,” said Brett Smith, owner and craftsman of Stone Eagle.

Michelle Lowe, of Allowe Training Resources, has developed training resource material to include Stone Therapy Massage in the new Diploma of Beauty training package.

The two units relating to Stone Therapy Massage from the SIB50110 Diploma of Beauty Therapy training package are:
• Providing stone therapies massage
• Providing Indian head massage for relaxation
