Which wax is best for your client?

We all have our own preferences when it comes to products we use in salon, but which wax is best for your client? We’ve put together this simple guide.

Different waxes are good for different clients and areas of the body.

Synthetic waxes

Synthetic hard  waxes are good for clients with sensitive skin or a low pain threshold, because the wax doesn’t stick to the skin as much as with strip waxing. Synthetic waxes are particularly good for the eyebrows, underarms, bikini line and Brazilians as these areas tend to be more sensitive.

Natural waxes

Chances are at least a few of your clients will be concerned about using synthetic wax on their skin, so offering a natural alternative is a great way to capture another market. Natural waxes aren’t always best on sensitive areas, so it’s usually best to stick to the legs, back, chest and arms.

Scented waxes

Scented wax will help create a nice atmosphere in your salon and the smell will flow through into other treatment rooms and your reception area. Try some yummy fragrances like French vanilla or apricot nectar to inject a bit of fun into what can sometimes be a not-so-fun half hour.
