Australian skincare brand, Ultraderm recently unveiled its latest product: Brighten RadianC Instant Glow Cream. Ultraderm founder, Pauline Valle caught up with Professional Beauty in light of the launch of the antioxidant-rich solution to explain why high active ingredient percentages aren’t always the be-all-and-end-all of an efficacious product.
PB: Pauline, you mentioned Ultraderm’s latest Cream focuses on the inclusion of multiple vitamin C variants, rather than relying on percentages of the active alone. Can you run us through what those variants are, and explain the benefits of this formulation process?
PV: “Ultraderm’s Brighten RadianC Instant Glow Cream was formulated with a strategic focus on incorporating several antioxidants to work synergistically to deliver maximum results, stability, absorption and skin benefits.
L-Ascorbic Acid, Ascorbyl Glucoside and Micellar Ferulic C + E were used in addition to antioxidant-rich botanicals which either naturally contain Vitamin C or help support and enhance its efficacy.
This holistic formulation methodology ensures that results are both immediate and cumulative, with skin appearing visibly brighter, smoother and more refreshed after each application.”
PB: We understand the product took over two years to develop. What were some of the hurdles you needed to overcome to perfect the product?
PV: “The development process took over two years, largely due to the complexity of stabilising multiple active ingredients while maintaining a sensorial silky feel that’s suitable for most skins.
One of the more unique challenges was perfecting the fragrance component. While Ultraderm typically avoids adding fragrance, in this case, we felt it was important to create a subtle yet luxurious sensory experience to complement the cream’s glow-enhancing results. After extensive trials with various essential oils, we chose sandalwood oil, not only for its warm, grounding aroma, but also for its aromatherapeutic skin toning benefits. Balancing efficacy with elegance was key, and the final formula reflects that attention to detail.”

PB: Which Ultraderm products currently in the range would pair best with this new Cream?
PV: “Perfect partners for Brighten RadianC Instant Glow Cream include either of our powerhouse Vitamin C serums: Absolute C or IntenC Super Serum for enhanced brightening and antioxidant support.
For those experiencing menopausal hormonal changes, our pro skin therapist tip is to pair the morning application of Brighten RadianC Instant Glow Cream with our award-winning Active Regenerating Cream at night to deliver targeted restoration and skin support around the clock.”
