Australian natural skincare range, Sukin was a strong contender in the first ever FreeFrom Skincare Awards with a number of products nominated and an award for Moisture Restoring Night Cream, which won Bronze in the Face Care category. The 2012 winners were announced at an invitation-only presentation at the Allergy and FreeFrom Show at Olympia, London on the 18th of May.

Sukin boasted two commended products and three shortlisted products in the award’s debut year. With over 160 products entered, the judging panel – including natural beauty experts, a nutritionist specialising in skincare, and sensitive skin sufferers – were excited by the diversity of innovative and quality products and struggled to narrow the field down at the initial assessment and testing stages.

“We were impressed with so many products that we decided to introduce a special ‘commended’ category for products that couldn’t quite make it onto the shortlist,” explains Michelle Berriedale-Johnson, editor of the SkinsMatter.com site. “This is for products which judges thought were very good and well-made, and that sat well in the natural or ‘free from’ skincare market, but which, in an exceptionally high standard field, were simply beaten by some truly outstanding products.”
