Smooth Remover: Getting Summer Ready

Summer is just around the corner and your clients will want to be beach ready and remove any unwanted hair growth they managed to keep covered in their winter woolies.

Hair removal is among one of the rituals that mark the start of summer and waxing is a great way of removing unwanted hair from the body leaving skin feeling rejuvenated and silky smooth.

For superior waxing results, here are few quick tips you can recommend to clients before and after waxing to help prepare their skin, reduce the pain, minimize bumps and irritation afterwards and improve the end result.

1. Check the skin area to be waxed. If you have any breakouts or irritation then it may be better to postpone the appointment
2. Avoid sunbathing or tanning beds for at least 24 hours prior and always wear a high SPF lotion prior to your visit
3. Avoid waxing a couple of days prior or after your period, as this is when your skin is most sensitive
4. Check the hair length. The optimum length is between 5mm – 10mm
5. Exfoliate the area where the hair will be removed the day or evening before. This will help prep the skin by removing dead skin cells and unclogging pores.

To avoid redness and bacterial infection after waxing, these simple steps can be followed:
1. Sooth skin with 3 in 1 After Wax Lotion to the area on the day following treatment to eliminate any potential infections, irritation and ingrown hairs
2. Avoid wearing tight clothing
3. Avoid taking hot baths and showers for at least 10 hours
4. Avoid heavy exercise for at least 24 hours
5. Avoid exfoliating the waxed area until at least three days after the treatment
6. Moisturise skin after a shower once skin has calmed down
7. Avoid the sun, solarium, sauna or swimming pool immediately after waxing and wear sun screen
8. Rebook your next appointment in another 4-6 weeks
9. Most importantly – enjoy your new smooth skin!
