Dermalogica introduces the Face Mapping app for iPad

Attention tech-savvy therapists: if you’re a fan of Dermalogica’s exclusive Face Mapping skin analysis system, you’ll love the new Face Mapping app for iPad.

The skin does not lie. When examined by a skilled skincare professional, the skin tells all: whether sun-bathing or rich food is a habit, or how many cocktails consumed the night before. To navigate and interpret this intensely revealing, constantly changing topography, Dermalogica developed an exclusive skin analysis tool called Face Mapping.

Dermalogica recently launched the Face Mapping iPad app – taking the traditional Face Mapping skin analysis technique and combining it with the very latest in technology, replacing the need for a paper-written prescription sheet.

The app is used by a Dermalogica skincare professional in their retail environment to best prescribe a regimen by a therapist to individual needs.

To begin, the therapist uses the Face Mapping app to take the clients details and the date of the consultation.

The app takes the therapist through the 14 Face Mapping zones, where they can make comments on what they find on their clients skin – documenting things like pigmentation, breakouts and fine lines.

After examining the skin and going through the full 14 zones, the therapist can then go on to prescribe a regime of Dermalogica products, as well as when to use each product (AM or PM) and whether the product should be used all over the face, or only in specific zones.

Once complete, the app produces a PDF prescription that’s emailed directly to the client, with the therapist keeping a copy for their own records.

This intelligent technology is already being utilised by Dermalogica stockists around the country, including its corporate-owned Skin BarSM locations in Sydney.
