OPI breaks Guinness record

OPI has set a Guinness World Record for The World’s Longest Manicure Bar with a 155ft (45.72 metre) set-up in Santa Monica.

The brand set up the nail bar along Santa Monica’s famous 3rd Street Promenade shopping area from 9am to 5pm on Saturday October 21.

Fifty technicians seated at the bar gave free OPI GelColor manicures with OPI’s newly launched ProHealth Top and Base Coat to eager members of the public.

The brand’s world record was officially set and declared at 5pm after the completion of more than 500 manicures.

OPI co-founder and brand ambassador Suzi Weiss-Fischmann said it was “a very exciting moment” for the brand.

“To see so many nail technicians and so many OPI fans come together to do something as grand and fun as setting a world record was a real treat!”

She added that the new ProHealth Base and Top Coat would give all the event attendees “healthier looking nails during wear and even after removal”.

“When combined with iconic OPI GelColor, attendees received a flawless GelColor manicure that can be removed scrape-free in as little as seven minutes without the worry of damaging nails.”

Other guests at the event, which also featured music, a selfie-station, a plush lounge and OPI treats, were actress Peyton List (“a longtime OPI fan”) and OPI’s newest global ambassador, celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik.
