Makeup Guru Victoria Curtis on How to Partner With AFW

Australian Fashion Week has come and gone for another year, and the beauty posse have been hot on their heels eyeing off the must-see looks of the season. For salon-partnered makeup brand Victoria Curtis Cosmetics, appearing at AFW would make for the ultimate exercise in marketing. The brand’s founder – Victoria Curtis – is no stranger to the fash-pack, glamming fashion week models in her range of cosmetics on more than one occasion.

PB caught up with the makeup guru to learn what 2025’s partnership with AFW looked like:

PB: Was 2025 the first year Victoria Curtis Cosmetics has ever partnered with AFW?

Victoria Curtis: “No! We have been incredibly fortunate to partner with many brands in the past at Fashion Week. We have previously been the beauty sponsor for brands like Watson x Watson, Zhivago, and Carla Zampatti! It is always such a huge honour to showcase our beautiful makeup products on the runway and create iconic looks for these amazing Australian brands.”

PB: This year, you collaborated with Farage. How did this collaboration come about?

VC: “Farage is an amazing brand that I have always admired. A very close friend of mine who is a PR and fashion icon in Australia – Chris Kontos – brought the idea to me. I immediately jumped at the chance as I knew the looks would be on-brand for us and also incredibly striking on the runway! We appointed the amazing Sean Brady as our lead artist to create the final look and he certainly delivered! It was a delight working with such a talent and I personally can’t get enough of this look. It is a perfect representation of the quality and finish of our amazing cosmetics.”

PB: Describe the looks that were achieved on the models for this show.

VC: “This look was all about glowing skin, striking eyes, and a nude lip; sophisticated, sexy and chic. Farage is all about minimalism and sophistication and is synonymous with classic tailoring. We wanted our look to reflect this and in order to achieve our goal, the eyes became our focus. The final look was striking and the models looked sensational on the runway.”

PB: What inspired these looks for you?

VC: “Think European chic, imperfect smokey eyes, polished skin, and barely-there lips, all of which you would see on the runways in Paris. Anytime we have created a look for Fashion Week our main aim is to complement the style of the brand and the collection they are showcasing. Once I had seen the Farage collection, I knew this look would be perfect.”

PB: Which hero products were used to achieve these looks?

VC: “The heroes of this runway show from our collection were:

Smokey Eye

Bronze Sunset Eye Shadow Palette
Glide on Gel Liner shades ‘Espresso’ and ‘Copper’
Extreme Volume Mascara

Lips

Glam Lipstick shades ‘Go Nude’, ‘Stripped’, and ‘Blush Nude’
Lip Liner ‘Naked’ and ‘Brown Sugar’

Skin

Naked Glow CC Cream
Liquid Full Coverage Concealer
Sun Goddess Illuminating Bronzer

Brows

Brow Tint Brow Plumper
Brow Styler Precision Pencil.”

PB: What advice would you pass on to a beauty brand aspiring to partner with a designer at AFW?

VC: “It’s definitely not easy and takes years to build a brand that has the ability to partner with designers at Fashion Week. However, my best advice is to put yourself out there and network as much as you can. You never know the doors that may open and who you may meet.”
