A new way to sell cosmetics?

Redefining Beauty, an Australian online beauty store, will launch Australia’s first digital vending machine dispensing beauty products next month.

The vending machine will dispense Sigma makeup brushes and accessories at a yet to be disclosed location in Australia.

Announcing the machine’s launch, Redefining Beauty marketing manager Shanti Fresco said the company was confident the new retail concept will be embraced by Australian makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts alike.

She said digital vending machines have already proven successful overseas stocking products as varied as cupcakes in New York, gold chips in Dubai, Lego blocks in Munich as well as in Australia with Havaianas thongs.

“Digital vending has been hailed by some as the future of retail, although Australia has seen very few of these types of machines so far.”

“However beauty shoppers are sure to be delighted with the glossy make-up ATM which provides easy access to the iconic brushes and accessories with no wait or shipping times.

“The vending machine will reach shoppers just in time for the Christmas rush.”

Redefining Beauty has sold Sigma makeup brushes as well as several other beauty brands (including Velour Lashes, BH Cosmetics, Kryolan and Sleek Makeup) via its website and pop-up stores at Westfield shopping centres and IMATS (International Makeup Artist Trade Show).
