The Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo’s ‘Face 2 Face ’ Makeup Awards are now open for entries. This year the competition takes a new direction with makeup and body artist Becca Gilmartin as the 2012 coordinator and two new categories Photographic Editorial and Film & Fantasy Special Effects!
Becca Gilmartin brings experience from working at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week and Australia’s Next Top Model to this year's competition along with a fresh, modern perspective! “In 2012 we are reinventing the Makeup Awards as the platform for every kind of makeup artist to explore their craft, push their own personal limits and display excellence on a national competition level not yet seen in Australia.” Becca says.
It will be “an opportunity for recognition by industry peers that also provides an access for career development. We are introducing an exciting new category that is sure to have makeup artists from around the country buzzing” she continues.
The introduction of the Photographic Editorial category offers makeup artists interested in editorial and fashion work an amazing new opportunity. Entrants have the chance to win two days with Rae Morris including one day backstage with Rae at a fashion show and one day including a one-on-one lesion with Rae plus a professional beauty photo of your work done on that day, all sponsored by RaeMorris.com and Reload Agency.
Film & Fantasy Special Effects will be a new category this year with the 2012 theme being The Oscars! Other award categories include Runway Inspired: Spring/Summer 2012 Collections and Film & Fantasy: The Oscars and The Modern Bride.
What’s more a celebrity panel will judge the competition. Makeup artists from all paths are invited to enter, whether it be TV, special effects, photo shoots or bridal, to showcase their talent, propel their career to the next level and receive industry recognition.
