Bodyography on the fashion scene

On Sunday, March 27, the Bodyography team, together with La Carte Blanche presented 'Urban Uprising'; a fashion show in an iconic Melbourne laneway.

A fashion show like no other, the traditional catwalk stage was substituted for a Melbourne CBD laneway and guests were given beer kegs and milk cartons to sit on rather than chairs. With graffiti art lining the walls and a 300-strong fashionable crowd, the event brought the city to life.

The makeup team lead by creative director Lanie Phelps and eight Bodyography makeup artists and salon stockists created the looks at the Bodyography Academy before being transported to the laneway.

Models from Giant Management modeled looks and the latest pieces from designers, such as Joseph Lang, Kosta J. Peters, Geofery Haining, Luisa Fernanda, and MLY.

The looks were simple but effective. It seemed it was all about an urban edge complemented by dark, bold eyes.

“It was a pleasure to be involved in a fashion parade with a twist. Having just finished Fashion week in Melbourne, I believe that people found this type of parade to be a breath of fresh air with a twist, all while utilising some of Melbourne's hidden laneways and locations,” says Rob Tamburro, Director of Bodyography.
