Image Skincare moves into supplement market

Image Skincare has moved into the beauty supplement market with the launch of Yana – an orange-flavoured “beauty liquid” containing bioactive collagen peptides.

Image Skincare senior educator Dawn Clifford officially launched Yana at Pro Beauty Solutions’ Profits to Passions 2.0 event in Sydney last week.

Speaking at the event, Clifford said that Yana, named after Image Skincare founder and CEO Janna Ronert, is a revolutionary collagen drink that works in conjunction with the brand’s topical skincare products to deliver “ground-breaking results”.

She said the drink, created using bovine collagen “ethically sourced from cows in Germany”, is clinically proven increase collagen by 65 per cent in 60 days.

“The hydrolysed collagen peptides in Yana slow the loss of collagen while simultaneously increasing the body’s natural ability to produce more,” says Clifford.

“In clinical studies, the bioavailable form of collagen has been shown to reduce wrinkle volume, increase elasticity and boost the skin’s hydration levels in as little as one week.”

In addition, Yana, which is meant to be taken as a daily 15ml shot alone or mixed with water, shakes, juices or teas, “tastes delicious”.

“Unlike the other collagen supplements on the market which have a fishy taste, Yana (which is available in a 450ml bottle containing one month’s supply as well as 15ml ‘on the go’ vials) is delicious,” adds Clifford. “It tastes a bit like ‘Tang’ so people are happy to drink it.”

Clifford stresses that although “no animals are hurt or killed during the production process” the company would consider producing a vegan collagen supplement in the future if a suitable plant source became available.

“Currently there is no plant or synthetic source of collagen with the effectiveness or bioavailability of the collagen we use in Yana,” Clifford explains.
