Elle’s top 10 beauty products for AOAM

Media personality Elle Halliwell has been appointed as an ambassador for Australia’s largest organic awareness campaign ‒ Australian Organic Awareness Month (AOAM).

Held in September each year, the campaign is organised by the Australian organic industry’s leading body, Australian Organic, to promote the importance of certified organics for both consumer wellbeing and the environment.

According to Australian Organic CEO Niki Ford, the campaign aims to educate and assist Australians everywhere on the benefits of choosing organic and reassure them that if their products are certified by Australian Organic they are “truly organic”.

“The certified organic industry is diverse with new and interesting products hitting the markets continuously,” she said.

“The awareness campaign is designed to help promote all certified organic products in store and online by educating consumers on why they should always look for a certification mark such as Australian Organic’s distinctive Bud logo when choosing to buy organic products.”

While Australian Organic promotes all organic products, including fresh produce, food and beverages, garden products, house cleaning product and even pet food, Elle will largely focus on promoting organic health and beauty products which made up around $148 million of Australia’s domestic and export market last year.

She says growing awareness “around chemical compounds in traditional cosmetics” is now driving industry growth in the Australian organic beauty industry,

“As a former beauty editor whose faced a major health battle in a cancer diagnosis three years ago, I’ve become much more aware of the benefits of living a life devoid of chemicals.

“Whilst some chemicals in makeup are in the long run harmless, I’d personally rather avoid them if I can.”

She says this Australian Organic Awareness Month is a good time for others “wanting to do the same” to seek out genuine organic products.

Elle shares her top 10 Australian organic beauty picks below.

Carols Beauty Products Carrot Sun Tanning Enhancer Oil
This is a must-have in my beach bag. It’s incredibly moisturising and gives my skin a nice glow.

Coconut Revolution Organic Coconut Oil Beauty
I keep a jar of this in my bathroom and lather myself in it at the end of my shower then gently rinse off. It leaves my skin silky soft.

Endota Organics Moisture Rich Belly Butter
I am a huge fan of Endota Spa, both their in-spa treatments and products. The Nurture range is my favourite as I use the products on both myself and my son.

Mukti Organics Antioxidant Facial Oil
This is an antioxidant powerhouse. Vitamins A & E, Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids and a bunch of nourishing and effective super oils. I like to add a few drops to my foundation for an extra glow.

Saba Organics Facial Toner
I like this product because it’s very gentle and doesn’t feel too astringent on my skin.

Sydney Essential Oil Co Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is a must have in our home. I use it as a blemish treatment and also for cuts and grazes.

Kora Vitamin C Serum
Since I started using this serum my skin tone is so much more even. It’s a very active product and I love that its energised with rose quartz!

Phyto Organics Organic Aniseed Lip Balm
I keep a pot in my handbag. I love the scent of aniseed; it’s a good energizer for me.

Pugoyi Bugs Off Essential Oil
I was on the hunt for an alternative to potent bug repellents and came across this product. It’s super effective but has a really pleasant smell – it’s almost like a fragrance, so it kind of doubles as a perfume.

Scout Cosmetics Antioxidant nail cream
I really love Scout Cosmetics, especially their nail polishes and hand care products. I suffer from very dry hands in winter, so keep this in my handbag.
