It has been a momentous year for Alpha-H, one that founder Michelle Doherty has yet to recover from and continues to push forward into. Shortlisted for the Business Owner category of the 2013 Telstra Business Women’s Awards, Michelle is humble in her brand’s achievements which have also seen countless award wins — most recently, inclusion in Harpers Bazaar’s Top 100 Products and winner of Best Acne Treatment in Bauer Media’s Australian Beauty Awards 2013.

Ensuring a fun and relaxed atmosphere, Alpha-H chose picturesque The Sailor’s Club, Rose Bay, to launch its summer releases to local beauty editors. A berry theme permeating the morning’s breakfast muesli and smoothie, it was three new products that stole the show, providing protection, nourishment and indulgence this season.

Protection Plus Daily 50+ contains nature’s own UV absorbers pomegranate oil and mango butter with antioxidant pycnogenol, made from the bark of the French maritime pine tree; Firming Body Therapy provides skin hydration and nourishment via a natural caffeine extract and raspberry oil, all with a pearlescent finish; and Cleansing Cube contains crushed cranberries, glycolic acid and coconut oil to provide a gentle cleanse for face and body.

Now manufacturing product from Alpha-H HQ on the sunny Gold Coast, selecting ingredients from local growers and ensuring packaging is produced in Australia, Michelle is able to garner greater control over her brand — one that has already experienced international success and is poised for continued growth. Never one to stand still, Michelle soon embarks on a whirlwind trip taking in Japan, China and the U.A.E. Three months still remain in 2013 and expect Alpha-H to make the most of every one of them.
