Beauty Expo ends with a bang

Beauty Expo Australia’s weekend of “innovation, inspiration and discovery” has “wrapped with a bang”.

Expo director Cory Watson said she was elated with the success of the 2019 edition.

“It’s been a fantastic year for Beauty Expo Australia,” she said.

“There’s was as amazing atmosphere on both days.

“It was incredible to see salon owners and beauty professionals coming together to celebrate everything our amazing industry has to offer.”

Watson said the expo provided the “ultimate environment” for salon owners and beauty brands looking to connect with new clients or maintain existing relationships.

“The feedback we’ve had from both exhibitors and visitors has been amazing,” she said.

“It’s so gratifying to see them feeling inspired and driven for the year ahead.”

The expo featured 350 beauty brands including industry-leaders and regular Expo exhibitors such as Babor Cosmetics, Murad, Ultraceuticals, OPI, Lycon, The Global Beauty Group, Young Nails, Mancine Cosmetics, Elleebana and Advanced Cosmeceuticals as well as 85 newcomers including Runway Room Cosmetics, Mimic Lashes, Refectocil and Sunny Park Skincare.

Yet despite the plethora of brands on show, Watson insists that the expo is far more than just a new product exhibition.

“The expo is defined by world-class education, with sought-after educators from Australia and the globe gathering in Sydney to share their sought-after tips, tricks, styles and techniques with the industry’s professionals,” she said.

“They showcased their skills in makeup, lashes, brow henna, waxing, cosmetic tattooing, nutrition, skin needling, cosmetic procedures, business advice and more to thousands of eager professionals ‒ and the education theatres were packed, illustrating the ongoing importance beauty professionals place on improving their skills and keeping up with current trends in order to stay ahead of the competition.”

This year education session highlights included:

Penny Antuar – ‘Mastering the glow’ and ‘Capture the glow’
Fiona Tuck – ‘The Role of Nutraceuticals in Skincare’ and ‘Slowly Ageing’
Misty Henkel – ‘Overcoming Sales Anxiety’
Justin Herald – ‘Creating a Customer Culture: Be the Salon of Choice’
Carla Oates ‘Beauty Begins in the Belly’
