Student-run Wellbeing Clinic opens in Pyrmont

THINK Education Group has officially launched Australia’s first holistic wellbeing clinic.

The Wellbeing Clinic - Massage facilities

Located in its brand-new Pyrmont campus, the Wellbeing Clinic uniquely combines the disciplines of three established health and wellbeing colleges, The Jansen Newman Institute (JNI), Australasian College of Natural Therapies (ACNT) and the Australian National College of Beauty (ANCB).

The new campus, which houses more than 800 students and 40 staff members, features the latest in technology to support student learning and provides a creative, social and collaborative learning environment for all students.

The clinic provides affordable massage, nutrition, naturopathy and counselling consultations to the public while providing its students with vital industry practice.

“The Wellbeing Clinic brings together lecturers and students from THINK Education Group’s three health and wellness-focused colleges, which have more than 76 years of combined experience in education and best practice,” says Teresa Mitchell-Paterson, Head of Academic Studies with the Australasian College of Natural Therapies.

“Through The Wellbeing Clinic, the general public will have access to the latest therapies and techniques in each discipline, performed by highly skilled senior students in a structured and supportive environment,” says Ms Mitchell-Paterson.

The Wellbeing Clinic will offer affordable counselling sessions through JNI, and ACNT will offer relaxation and remedial massages as well as nutrition and naturopathy consultations. Later in the year, a variety of beauty treatments, including facials, manicures and pedicures will  be provided by ANCB.

“The variety of services offered will allow each patient and student to gain a better understanding of the positive outcomes that can be experienced by balancing physical, mental and spiritual wellness,” says Ms Mitchell-Paterson.

All student-provided services are supervised by qualified experts and The Wellbeing Clinic is open before, during and after traditional work hours.

“The Wellbeing Clinic will ensure that tomorrow’s health and wellbeing professionals will enter the field with the best training and experience possible,” she concludes.
