Jane Iredale Conference & 2014 Makeup Trends

Between October 7 -11 Jane Iredale representatives from 20 countries gathered in Massachusetts for the Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics Global Education Conference briefing on the brand’s 2014 marketing and strategic plans.

Global Distributors joined for 4 days of knowledge sharing in the gorgeous Berkshires in Massachusetts[4]

Located in the lush Cranwell Resort, Spa and Gold Club in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, the conference was conveniently located just down the road from Jane Iredale global headquarters at Great Barrington. The location mirrors the mineral brand’s philosophy perfectly; the town is surrounded by mountains, streams, lakes and forests – evoking natural beauty.

2014 trend report from Jane Iredale director of education, Tricia Campbell

Metallic Eyelids:
Eyes and lips are the main focus for this upcoming Spring/Summer season in the US. The universal ‘single look shadow’ application with metallic, gold and
silver eye shadow has been seen all over the runway. Another big trend in high fashion this year is a wet and dewy eye. And coming out number one, is the shimmery grey, metallic eye being most popular. Jane Iredale 24k Gold Dust or 24k Silver Dust are two gorgeous shimmery shadows that will create this look for you.

To make the eyes look wet or dewy; try mixing a 24k Gold Dust with our Smooth Affair Facial Primer. It’s easier than you think – with a Deluxe Shader Brush, stipple the mixture all over the eyelid up into the crease.

High Impact Eyeliner:
This upcoming season isn’t all about colour; it is more about textures and finishes. The black intense winged eye was seen all over the runway. Jane Iredale Mystikol liner in Onyx will create this intense black line.

Nude to soft berry bold matte pouts:
Fall/Winter trends for 2014 are intense bright, bold red lips; the bolder the better. Spring is burgundy, berry and plum as the colour of choice. The application of lipstick is a little blurred and matte; looking more like a stain on the lips – no sharp lines or gloss. ‘Margi’ (named after Margi herself, our Aussie Distributor for Jane Iredale) is an excellent color from our new PureMoist Lipstick Collection for creating this look.

Soft, fresh skin and pastel eyes:
For the skin, in the upcoming Spring/Summer season in the US, the foundation is very sheer and natural. Dream Tint Tinted Moisturiser – it’s our ‘original’ CC Cream, gives a sheer wash of colour that evens out and corrects skin tone and hydrates beautifully leaving a clean natural finish with an SPF 15. I prefer to apply it with the Blending Brush.
