Get Threaded Opens in Sydney

A team of beauty experts specialising in the ancient art of threading have brought a Get Threaded salon to the CBD, in their quest to help Sydneysiders achieve brow perfection.

Headed up by franchisees Nieves Calvo and Eli King, the Get Threaded Metcentre held a party last week to celebrate the opening. “The launch party was amazing. Everybody had a great time and we had so many compliments about the store. The launch has also helped us to establish ourselves in the CBD as one of the leading experts in beauty. We’re very excited for the future,” said Nieves.

GetThreaded2Along with a team of certified and accredited threading artists, Nieves will be offering a wide range of threading services to meet the increasing demand for this innovative approach to hair removal.

Threading involves twisting and rolling antibacterial cotton thread over the eyebrow to remove the hair. “Made popular by celebrities across the world, the demand for threading has increased considerably in the time I’ve been a threading artist,” Nieves said.

Nieves first encountered this unique beauty procedure through her friend and Get Threaded master franchisee, Eva Kayrouz, in 2012. Fascinated by what she experienced,  she was inspired to complete both a beauty therapist course and the Get Threaded Certificate II in Hair Removal (threading) – the only nationally accredited course in the service.

“I’ve always loved anything to do with hair and beauty, and it has been a lifelong dream to work in the industry,” she said. “However, as a busy mother of two children, I never really believed I’d get the opportunity to do so. It wasn’t until I met Eva and Get Threaded founder Liz See that I realised I could fulfil my ambition.”

While Nieves has been with Get Threaded for just over a year, it took under three months for her to become a franchisee once she made the decision to pursue the opportunity. “The incredible flexibility and support offered by the Get Threaded family have been instrumental in my journey from threading artist to franchisee,” she  said.

An example of this flexibility is the online training course which allows for home learning. However, all trainees must also complete comprehensive practical training in which they are mentored on the brand’s unique ‘3 points of WowTM’ technique and required to produce a portfolio of 40 eyebrow makeovers.

Students are also taught how to use tools such as the ‘Perfect Brows 1-2-3 Eyebrow alignment and Brow Helper’, developed to help brow artists design the perfect shape for each individual client.
