Bodyography flirts with fashion and music

Bodyography’s makeup team recently sponsored Newcastle Fashion Week and also provided makeup services for pop star, Beyonce’s backing band.

The mineral makeup brand worked backstage with models at Newcastle Fashion Week.

The event showcased local fashion labels including Acacia, Amy Reid Georgi and Bec, Missy Mou and Zenana Women, which practices modern, ethical fashion with free-trade principles to produce clothing in India.

Newcastle Fashion Week supported local models, makeup artists, hairdressers, students, businesses and the community.

All funds raised at the event will go to the Cancer Council to help fund cancer research, while raising awareness to the plight of young adults with cancer.

Bodyography General Manager, Rob Tamburro, said:

“For Bodyography it was an amazing experience to be involved in our first Fashion Week. It is an opportunity for our team to work with leading designers and artists on the catwalk for all to see.

"It was a great event and my personal congratulations goes out to its organiser and cancer survivor Louise Mackay, who now 22 was diagnosed with leukaemia four years ago. Not only was it a great event for the Newcastle region it also raised money for the Cancer Council NSW with its tag line “Curing Cancer in Syle”. For Bodyography it was a taste of bigger things to come with sights set on Melbourne.”

On September 20, the Bodyography artistic team was asked to do the makeup for a photo shoot for Ink Magazine featuring some of Beyonce’s backing band; focusing on lead guitarist Bibi (pictured).

Following the shoot, the Bodyography team was asked backstage to carry out all the makeup for all Beyonce’s band members including Bibi (guitarist), Destiny (saxophone) and Catchy (bass guitar).

The US Bodyography team will assist the Beyonce crew on all shows in the US.
