Trilogy launches campaign to aid endangered orangutans

This month, natural skincare brand, Trilogy is launching an ongoing campaign to support endangered orangutans in South East Asia as part of its commitment to animal welfare.

To launch the campaign, Trilogy will donate $1* from the sale of each specially marked box of its hero product, Certified Organic Rosehip Oil, to the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation, the world’s largest orangutan rescue sanctuary. The campaign will run throughout Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Increased demand for palm oil and paper products has led to the deforestation of rainforests in South East Asia; threatening the survival of orangutans. The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation actively rescues and rehabilitates wild orangutans from oil plantations and releases them into wild, protected rainforest habitats.

Sarah Gibbs, co-founder and director of Trilogy, said: “I was in London on a business trip when I watched a documentary about how humans are decimating the natural habitat of orangutans in South East Asia. In a very short space of time these magnificent, intelligent animals won’t exist.

"I thought: ‘We can actually do something about this by using one of our best-selling products to raise awareness and funds for Orangutans’. The Trilogy team agreed so we approached the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation and began our campaign with a limited edition run of our Certified Organic Rosehip Oil. At Trilogy, we’re all passionate about this cause – extinction is forever, and not something to be ignored. We believe that much more can be done to aid the world’s orangutan population, so watch this space!”
