Ingestibles take big bite out of beauty market

Ingestible beauty products will be one of the big attractions at this weekend’s Naturally Good Expo in Sydney.

According to event manager Sarah Weatherby, ingestible beauty products will be one of the key trends on display at the expo which features over 350 exhibitors including 55 beauty and personal care suppliers.

“Ingestible beauty is increasingly becoming the go-to for many for many wanting to achieve beautifully glowing and healthy looking skin from the inside,” she says.

Sarah’s observation is backed by Research and Market’s latest report on the global beauty supplements’ market which predicts that the market will grow by 9.5 percent a year for the next five years to reach US$7100m in 2023.

The market is segmented on the basis of applications into skincare, hair care, nail care, dental care and others with skincare supplements currently accounting for more than 30 percent.

“The global beauty supplements market is growing at a fast pace and is anticipated to attain significant market size over the next few years,” the report says.

“Increasing concerns of people towards their aesthetic appeal, appearance and looks along with augmented spending power has strengthened the growth of beauty supplements market over the past few years.”

Noting that Europe is currently the largest market for beauty supplements “owing to higher disposable income possessed by the consumers along with rising concerns of people towards their external outlook and appearance”, the Research and Markets report stresses that “Asia Pacific will drive demand in upcoming years”.

Companies targeting the lucrative ingestible beauty market at the Naturally Good Expo include Nutra Organics, Vida Glow, Health Lab, Herbal Fix, Activated Nutrients, Dermatonics and Golden Grind.

The Naturally Good Expo, which also includes an extensive seminar program, will be held at Sydney’s International Convention Centre on Sunday April 29 and Monday April 30.

The Naturally Good Summit, “an action-packed day of focused and actionable sessions on product, channel, sales, marketing, finance, export and industry insights”, will be held on Friday April 27.
