Gaia Retreat & Spa Win TripAdvisor & Spa Traveller Awards

The internationally renowned and award-winning Gaia Retreat and Spa has been recognised once again by TripAdvisor winning four Traveller’s Choice Awards 2013.

It ranked number one for the category "Top 25 Small Hotels in Australia", number three of the "Top 25 Hotels for Service in Australia", number seven of the "Top 25 Small Hotels in the South Pacific", and number 25 of the "Top 25 Hotels for Service in the South Pacific." These awards follow on the heals of Gaia receiving the London-based, Spa Traveller Awards' "Reader's Choice Ultimate Wellness Spa", "Best Wellness Spa: Australasia and South Pacific", and "Best Wellness Cuisine".

The latter award couldn't have come at a better time with the forthcoming release of head Chef Dan Trewartha’s cookbook "Gratitude" – the follow up to Gaia’s first acclaimed cookbook, "Grace", which completely sold out. In addition, Olivia Newton-John, co-owner of Gaia Retreat & Spa, recently had an international success with “Livwise: Easy Recipes for a Healthy, Happy Life”, which in addition to her own healthy creations, also features recipes from various chefs at Gaia. All of her proceeds from “Livwise” benefit the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia.

'We were all absolutely delighted with this news,” says Gregg Cave, Gaia’s GM and Director. “Our team comes to work with heart and, place so much value on creating an ultimate authentic Australian retreat / spa experience. So to receive this award is dedication to their commitment. Thank you Spa Traveller and the readers for this kind acknowledgement. Making others happy is a great way to remain happy!”

"I am so proud of our Gaia family, they all deserve this award,” adds Olivia Newton-John, Gaia Director. “We have some very special people who work with us and some amazing healers and therapists. Every time I am there, I feel so grateful at what we have created. Gregg and I set out with a dream and now guests can experience the magic of Gaia.”

In addition to “The Spa Traveller Awards,” Gaia has received numerous other awards including Australia’s Gourmet Traveller Awards’ Best Health Retreat 2011; and the highest honour a hotel can receive from the TripAdvisor community, Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice – Winner of 2012, 2011 and 2010. This presitgious award is based on the reviews and opinions of millions of travellers and is awarded to a select and distinguished group of hotels. Other awards presented to Gaia include "Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Spa Awards 2008", "Favourite Overseas Hotel Spa Australasia & South Pacific"; and the "ASPA Awards 2008 – Best Destination Spa Australasia".
