With a soft launch underway, this new MAC Technique app (which is now available to download from either Google Play or iTunes) has been created to work in tandem with the new M.A.C Technique workshops, a broad range of workshops and seminars with currently thirteen different focuses on offer.

Ranging from intimate hands-on classes, to larger class sizes of around twenty, these technique classes offer an exciting opportunity for makeup enthusiasts to find out all the must-know tips and tricks direct from a M.A.C makeup artist’s mouth.

Created for the seasoned professional to the rooky beauty buff, classes range in skill level and are currently rolling out across the country. All you have to do is download the app and search for a class in your location. Once you’ve found the class of your makeup dreams, book in and wait to receive a face chart with interactive tips and tricks, along with an outline of what you will learn on the day.

At the launch this week in the M.A.C Pro store on Glenmore Road in Sydney’s Paddington, beauty media were taken through the ins and outs of the app by Carol Mackie, Senior Artist for M.A.C Cosmetics. Mackie took attendees step-by-step through the Going Natural look, a “No-Makeup Makeup” look, which involves beautifully prepped skin, tonal eyes and nude toned lips. The beauty journos are lucky enough to witness Mackie’s genius on a fairly regular basis, but what made this demonstration really fun was the interactivity created from the app.

Forget bringing a pad and paper, this new app will allow you to catalogue any favourite products, note down winning ideas, save professional tips and document images. Hit “Finish” on your app and it is all saved for whenever you want to be re-inspired. (Oh so much better than jotting your ideas on the back of the gas bill you found floating around in your handbag).

Once you have booked into a class, you will receive a professional face chart, like this one, in your app. At class, you can personalise it and take down all those light-bulb makeup moments.

Australia is the test market for this new initiative, making Aussies the first in the world to be able to download (and play!) with this exciting new app. So get into an app store and be an initiator.

M.A.C Technique classes are $120 per person and fully redeemable for product. (We dare you to try leaving without the new M.A.C Studio Waterweight Foundation…)
