True to their mission APAN launched their first conference program for the year in Adelaide on Sunday 26 May.

The theme of the conference was “Understanding the new Era of Aesthetics.” Tina Viney, CEO of APAN, said the event was very successful and well supported from salons and clinics across the region, as well as from other states including WA, Darwin, Queensland, Sydney and Victoria.  Industry professionals networked among themselves and also forged some good relationships with skincare companies who were represented through a small exhibition.

“The aesthetics industry benefits from a strong and credible professional educational and networking environment where they can learn about global changes that will affect their future direction and gain insight into the choices they have to prosper and grow.

“The objective of the conference is to present quality, education with a special focus on generic content that delegates can use to benchmark their professional and business decisions.  All professional industries conduct generic conference programs, but the aesthetics industry predominantly offers supplier training events and, while these are valuable, they focus on the products they have developed.  This often leaves a gap in the area of broader information, also important for any professional or business owner.”

Tina went on to say the feedback was amazing and several indicated it gave them a totally new perspective of where the industry is heading that enabled them to gain greater clarity as to where they need to focus their direction.

“It is such testimonials that are so rewarding and make these events worthwhile,” said Tina, “If we can save businesses in this economic climate and re-energise them with new tools and passion, we would have achieved an important part of our mission.”

The next Australian Aesthetics Conference will be held in Sydney on Monday 26 August at the same time as the Sydney International Spa and Beauty Expo.  Reed have offered delegates attending our event a complimentary ticket to the Expo.

“Our Sydney conference will present some dynamic new speakers and I will be presenting new information on global trends.  This information can revolutionise the way clinics, salons and spas do business and can mean the difference between success and failure,” she added.
