Self Heating Lava Shells

[Wed 03/03/2010 12:20:05]

SPAS have long looked to the sea for treatment inspiration, from deep-sea mud detox to feet-nibbling fish pedicures, but the latest aqua-themed craze sees therapists armed with shells for a revolutionary new massage.

An eco-friendly alternative to traditional hot stones, while stones require electric heating, lava shells are the world's first naturally self-heating massage tool – you need to see, and feel it, to believe it!

Taking genuine tiger-striped clam shells from the South Pacific, where they form part of the local communities' day-to-day diet and were previously considered waste, the innovative new therapy is based on the shells' natural ability to heat up internally, with no need for heaters or generators.

Each Lava Shell is a real, hand-selected Tiger Striped Clam Shell, recycled from food waste.  The shells are bonded together for strength and carefully polished to let their natural luster shine through.

All that is needed is Lava Gel, a combination of salt water activator and a blend of minerals, sea kelp and algae, which is placed in the centre of the shell, naturally heating it from within.

The Lava Charge consists of a Lava Gel Sachet and a Lava Activator.  The sachet is placed inside the shell and the Activator is then poured in.  In just five minutes, the shell is ready to use!  For clean-up just remove and discard the biodegradable sachet and rinse the shell with antibacterial soap and water!

Seriously stress-busting, shell therapy offers an intense, comforting massage, where therapists work their way from the arms, to the stomach, legs, shoulder, neck and back. The sustained heat allows deep muscle work, allowing the release of tension and the alleviation of soreness.

Treatments are available now nationwide at leading Australian Spas.
