Australian spa care brand, Li’Tya is supporting the Indigenous Australian cultural festival, NAIDOC Week, which runs from July 5 to 12. The theme of this year’s NAIDOC Week is “Honouring our Elders, Nurturing our Youth”.
Li’Tya is showing its support in three ways this year: by offering both web and spa client promotions and co-sponsoring this Sunday’s Family Day event, which kicks off NAIDOC Week, in Canberra.
For every purchase of a Li’Tya product via the brand’s website for the month of July, Li’Tya will donate $1 to the Yothu Yindi Foundation www.healingplace.com.au which assists the Indigenous people of Australia.
For every Retail Cleanser purchased from Li’Tya Spa Partners for the month of July, the company will donate $3 to the Yothu Yindi Foundation.
On Sunday 5 July, Floressence Day Spa, together with Li’Tya, will run an event marquee between 11:00am and 2:30pm, offering mini wellness treatments to the respected Elders of the local community during the all-day Family Day celebrations held at Boolmanulla Oval, in Narrabundah ACT. Key MPs, VIP guests and local media will be attending the event. Li’Tya trainer and Ambassador, respected Elder, Anne Warren, will be offering treatments, gifts and information about Li’Tya on the day.

NAIDOC celebrations are held around Australia in July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. NAIDOC originally stood for ‘National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee’. This committee was once responsible for organising national activities during NAIDOC Week and its acronym has become the name of the week itself. The week is celebrated not just in the Indigenous community, but also, increasingly, by numbers of government agencies, schools, local councils and workplaces.
