Swine Flu spurs sanitizer sales

With the latest bout of colds and influenza passing through the community, families are turning to sanitizers to stay healthy.

Over the past 12 months, sales of hand sanitizers have increased between 15% and 200% around the world.

Eminence Organic Skin Care is now offering a sanitizer with the added benefits of being all natural and beautifully scented to create a product you would be proud to take out of your bag.

Just a few years ago, sanitizers were considered as being overly cautious but Swine Flu fears and faster spreading diseases have led the community to appreciate the convenient and necessary use of hand sanitizers.

Research that was presented at the 42nd Annual Meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America showed that families using hand sanitizer gel had a 59 percent reduction in the spread of gastrointestinal illnesses compared with families that didn't use sanitizer, according to a Harvard Medical School study.

Thankfully cleansing your hands of bacteria no longer has to carry the stereotypical, heavy alcohol-based smell of supermarket brands.

With the rapid growth in hand sanitizer sales globally, several companies have acted quickly to convert the humble sanitizer with its traditional hospital smell into a more aromatic blend.

One of these companies, Eminence Organic Skin Care, is leading the way, offering a USDA Organic certified hand sanitizer, enriched with tea tree oil, iced mint, chamomile and aloe vera.

The calming tea tree and mint scent seems more fitting of a day spa than a hand sanitizer, normally known for its harsh smell.

People already understand that prevention is better than any cure, but many avoid generic hand cleansers due to their harsh chemicals and overpowering scent.

Director of Green Living Cosmetics, Tamara Hart, feels that avoiding germs with a natural sanitizer is important for everyone in day to day life.

“Whether you’re working indoors, outdoors or spending time with friends and family, germs are everywhere,” Tamara said.

“We all lead such busy lives and just don’t have time to be getting sick so the new Tea Tree and Mint Hand Cleanser is the best option. Not only is it chemical-free but 100% Vegan.”

Vegan skin care products are becoming the product of choice for people wanting to avoid animal products and by-products.

They are also particularly appealing for those interested in animal welfare and the environment.
While Vegans only constitute a small percentage of the population, products that support this lifestyle are increasing in popularity.

Eminence is continuing to innovate new products that offer alternative options for the growing environmentally conscious and savvy market.
