Eco.kid's third year at Cosmoprof Bologna

[Wed 25/03/2009 11:55:16]

Australian organic children’s hair and skincare brand, Eco.kid, will be exhibiting for the third year at Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, Italy, in April.

The Australian-made products contain up to 99 per cent raw materials that conform to European organic certification body, Ecocert’s standards of ecological and organic cosmetics. They are free from synthetics, sulphates, silicones and artificial fragrances, colouring and preservatives. Some products contain Australian indigenous flora.

The range is formulated exclusively for the hair, scalp and skin of children aged 3 to 12 years and is said to help address problems including cradle cap, head lice, dry skin and scalp.

Garth Gauvin, Marketing Director, Haircare Australia, distributors of Eco.kid, said: “We have had very encouraging experiences which is why we are returning [to Cosmoprof]. For us, it is now not only about meeting new buyers but also seeing our current customers to show them new items and receive feedback from them on their markets.”

According to Mr Gauvin, Australian brands are regarded as being very environmentally conscious and of high quality. “Traditionally, Australia is not a country that has been regarded as a producer of beauty brands but I believe this is changing,” he said. “There are many niche products emerging from Australia, especially due to the explosion in demand for organic brands and the perception of Australia as a clean, green country.”

Eco.kid will be exhibiting at Pavilion 26, Australian Stand A101-B104.

Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna takes place from April 3 to 6 in Bologna, Italy.
